There are always a number of Jazz Festivals being held in Sydney and around NSW, so check out our Festivals page to see what's on. Please let us know if you would like your event to be included in our list
JAZZ EVENTS FOR 2008
The Sydney Jazz Club involves itself and its members in a number of Jazz related events during the year and details can be found by clicking on the menu on the left. These activities include:
Live Jazz: The last Friday of most months has dining & dancing at Drummoyne RSL with a variety of local, interstate and occasionally overseas jazz musicians to entertain you.
Jazz Picnics: Picnics at Berry Island provide an afternoon of music and fun and you are encouraged to bring along a picnic lunch, rug, drinks and friends and enjoy the atmosphere.

Special Events: Key events that occur during the year.
The Sydney Jazz Club holds live jazz functions on the last Friday of most months, there are exceptions such as December. The event is held in a venue where there is a dance floor, dining and bar facilities. Currently this is Drummoyne RSL Club located on Victoria Road, Drummoyne.
The bands comprise leading local and interstate jazz musicians and occasionally overseas musicians playing traditional and mainstream jazz. The Club aims to present different bands each month and occasionally will feature a theme for the evening to mark a prominent event such as the 100th anniversary of Bix Beiderbeck's birth, a musical genius, who by age 3 could hear a tune once and then play it on the piano, and sadly, died at the age of 29.

Come and join us for an afternoon of music and fun to put you in the mood for dancing. The music is for listening and yes, for dancing. Bring your own picnic lunch, rug, drinks and friends. You may even like to get dressed-up for a bit of fun and there is also a raffle, so you might also be lucky enough to take some music home with you, on a CD. All are welcome to come and join us for our picnics at Berry Island Reserve.
The Berry Island picnic is always on the Sunday after the 3rd Friday (yep, so obscure you're bound to remember). For those coming to Berry Island Reserve, just come to the bush hill on Berry Island (no you don't need a boat), we are over the green bits at the end of Shirley Road, Wollstonecraft. See you there.
